Welcome to www.galwayfestivals.com dedicated to the festival capital of Ireland which is of course....Galway!
Galway is officially the European Capital of Culture for 2020 and is the true capital of festivals in Ireland.
Festivals in Galway take place right throughout the year from St. Patrick's Day in March to the Comedy Festival in October. The Galway Film Fleadh preceeds the BIG TWO events of the year, the Galway International Arts Festival and the Galway Races in July & early August. Galway is a popular destination but you can mix it up by visiting Connemara and The Burren! The Volvo Ocean Race has been hosted by Galway, twice in 3 years! Galway is known as the 'place of the foreigners' and its no wonder with the amount of tourists we get! If you havent been to Ireland yet make sure to include Galway in your itinerary and if you have been then make sure to return, spread the word, tell your men and women folk back home!
The content and information on this website is current and regularly updated and you will find lots of ideas on things to do while you are in Galway along with links to the official sites of all the featured festivals.
